Prayer Chains To Heaven
As a child of God, one of our greatest privileges is that of prayer. Having spent time in Japan and seeing the people praying to their idols of worship, makes me appreciate what we have even more. God tells us that we can come to the Throne of Grace, knowing that He is ready to hear and answer our prayers according to His will and in His time. What peace there is in knowing our God is anxiously waiting to hear our petition. There is another privilege that God blesses us with. It that the opportunity to pray for someone else in intercessory prayer. Paul instructs us that we are to "bear one an other's burdens" and one way of doing that is to pray with them in their time of need. We have at our church, as most churches do, a prayer chain. Several women are ready to receive special prayer request and lift them to the throne of God. It is amazing just how much peace and contentment it brings to those in need. I received a call the other day and the request was of such urgency that I not only called our prayer chain, but also at least 5 other people from 5 other churches so they in turn could pass the request along to their people. Then I sent out an email to many pastors in the state to make them aware of the situation. In a matter of moments, not hours, we had hundreds of people praying. Here is my point. These prayer chains are of utmost importance in the local churches. If you have a need, call on them. If you get a call, take it serious and spend time in prayer concerning the matter. You may not know any of the details, but the person in need does, and so does our God. Use that prayer chain to heaven.

It Just Seems Right To Me
Psa 119:9 "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse he ways? By taking heed thereto according to Thy Word."
I was just reading an email and it had a story in it that was so funny, because it could be true. As the story goes there were two young ladies sitting outside one evening enjoying the beauty of the stars and the moon in a clear sky over Oklahoma. One young lady turned to the other and asked "which do you think is further, Florida or the moon"? With not so much as a hesitation the other responded "well, duh, can you see Florida"? It seemed only logical to her that since she could see the moon then it must be closer. Solomon knew of this hundreds of years ago when he wrote, "there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death". Prov 14:12 We are prone to look at things without ever really considering all the facts and make our own determination. For instance, when it comes to the matter of Salvation and going to Heaven, man has the idea that because God is a God of love, then certainly, He would not send anyone to Hell. I mean it just makes sense. But, the fact of the matter is that some will go to hell even though God loved them enough to send His only Begotten Son to die for them. Others, will rationalize that if I do more good than I do bad, then the good will out weigh the bad and God will take me to Heaven. But, again, the fact is that our goodness is nothing more that filthy rags compared to the righteousness of Holy God. Once again, it seems right, but the end is death. So, what do we need to do? It is very simple. Go to God's Word and find our instructions there. Then just do what God says and all will be fine. Now, that seems right to me.
