Happy New Year
We are back and looking forward to a new year. The new year brings a number of things, one of which is the "resolution". You know, that promise you make and plan to keep for the next 365 days, but only lasts until, well, maybe the second week. Now, don't get me wrong. These resolutions are good things. They come as a result of looking back and seeing things in your life that just didn't set well with you. Things that you honestly believe need to be changed - and for the better. As we begin 2009, I hope that you have taken a good inventory of your past as well as your future. Regardless of who you are, there is always room for improvement. We often think of the Apostle Paul and being one of, if the not the greatest Christians and missionaries that the world has ever known. But, Paul even said that he had not yet arrived. Or, in other words, there was still room for improvement in his life. If we ever get to the point in life that we are satisfied, we start to lose out on God's best for us. As you consider the prospects for the days ahead, ask God to help you become more and more like Him. I can promise you that you will never be content with who you are any longer. Now, go on and get back to the football games or parades or whatever it is that you are doing today. And, begin right this moment having a Happy New Year.
