It Is Almost Time For School
It is hard to imagine, but the summer break is almost over. For the most part, I think you will find that kids are eager in May to start the summer vacation, but just as eager in August to get back to school and spend time with their friends. Or not! Regardless, it is something that has to be done. I often wonder if maybe the break in school is something that carries over even into our adulthood. You know, the idea that since I am not in school I am not responsible for learning anything. How many kids spend time reading during the summer break? How may adults think about learning since they are not in school themselves? My point is this, that everyday there is something new we can learn - regardless of who we are. And, it is interesting to see the source of our new found knowledge. On occasion it will come from the most unlikely source. Someone once coined this phrase and I have used it often - "the more you know, the more you know you don't know". Even the brainiac doesn't know it all. So as you arise today and begin to face another challenge and another set of circumstance, ask God to teach you something. Something new and exciting about Him. Something phenomenal about His creation that just astounds you. Something that makes you step back and say "WOW!!!" Make everyday a school day.
