Is Not Fighting Losing?

I am sure you have heard someone say "I'm a lover, not a fighter" or maybe as one guy told me when he said he only lost one fight growing up and that was when he slipped going around a corner. (for those of you who may not get it, he lost because the other guy caught him when he slipped). Anyway, I was thinking the other day about whether we actually lose if we chose not to fight. I know that it is wise to choose your battles, because somethings just aren't worth fighting over. But, then there are some things that we must take a stand on and defend our position or our beliefs. Back in the 60's there were those who classified themselves as conscientious objectors. They felt it was wrong to go to war. But, they had sit ins and marches and some even left the country because they felt so strongly about their belief. Were they not fighting for what they felt was right? I understand that it was a different kind of fight, but they stood their ground none the less. I was talking to a parent some time ago that told me he let his child get away with something because he did want to get into a fight with them. I told him that in reality, they did fight and the child won. He understood what I meant. Here is my point in all of this - We, as Christian Americans, have let the ungodly heathens take away our freedoms, because we did not want to fight. When young David prepared to face Goliath, he asked the army of Israel, "is there not a cause"? For him, the cause was that the Philistines has blasphemed his God and the God of Israel. It is time for you and I to take a stand for Godliness, because if we do not fight, we lose!
