Pros And Cons Of Modern Technology

Rom 6:1 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that Grace my abound?"

I would be the first to admit that I really enjoy the modern technology. I remember several years ago when I took typing in High School. Believe it or not, it was on a manual typewriter that didn't even have the letters on the keys. I actually became fairly good at typing and spent many hour at the keyboard during college and even in the military. Ah, but now, we have modern technology with the variety of work processing programs. Has it made my life easier? By all means!. But, I have also noticed a downside to it. By using my computer, my mistakes are so easily corrected. Some may ask "why is that a downside"? Because the ease of correction makes me sloppy and careless. I can speed along and even if I don't catch my mistake at the time, I can always use spell check and it can tell me just how careless I really was. I enjoy that feature, but to be honest, it is rather frustrating sometimes because I have made so many mistakes. Hum, it sounds like there should be a message in there somewhere. Ah, yes, here it is. When a person receives Christ as his Lord and Savior, his sins are forgiven and nothing can cause him to stand before God in eternal condemnation. He still has a sin nature and is prone to sin as a result. As a new Christian, we usually are more sensitive to our sin and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, because we are really trying to live a separated life, free from sin. But, as time goes on, we realize that as we sin, I John 1:9 tells us that when we confess that sin, He is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, we become more lax in our attempt a living righteously, because it is so easy to make things right. Here is the problem with that idea. To confess means to "agree with God that what we have done is a sin". Okay, so what does that mean? Glad you asked. It means that when I confess my sin, I am saying to God that I really don't want to do that any more. So, I guess when I sit down at my computer and when I live my life, I really do need to try not to make mistakes.
