Election Time

What an interesting political season this year. There has been so much hoopla about the Presidential race that it has taken away from the state and local races. I don't get into politics very much, but I believe that we have a responsibility as Christians and as citizens to get out and prayerfully vote as God gives us direction. One thing I am sure of and that is that there is not one candidate out there that any of us can completely agree with. So, how do we vote. As God gives us direction through His Word. There are certain issues, such as abortion - killing of babies in the mother's womb - that we must stand against, regardless of who is running. We must remember that Sovereign God is still on the throne and as we find in Prov 21:1 "The King's heart is in the hand of the Lord". We have been instructed to pray for those who have the rule over us as they have been placed there by God. God may have designs to bless this nation, or He may have designs to chasten the rebelliousness and sin of this nation. What we do know is this, that God blesses the faithfulness of His children, regardless of what is taking place around them. All we can do is what we know to do that is right before God. The rest is up to Him.
