Do We Need A Sign To Tell People To Read The Sign?

Once again last year we had a booth at the local county fair. It was interesting to say the least.
There were hundreds of people that came by daily and many of them stopped by to get a free bottle of water. We did something a little different this year in that we made a large sign and placed it out in the walking area that said "Free Water". We thought that surely, this year people will know what we are doing and come by on a hot steamy afternoon for a cold bottle of water - Free. We still had to yell out to the crowds of passers-by to let them know what we had to offer before some would realize that here was a place where their thirst could be quenched, and it would cost them nothing. But, I guess that is the way people are today. Maybe it is because they just do not pay attention to what is directly in front of them or maybe it is because they are a little skeptical about something that is free. Sadly, the same thing is true when it comes to God dealing with man. God is so gracious and kind to put out the signs to let us know that we are in danger and we simply pass them by. God sends people into our lives to figuratively give us a sign that God truly does want to bless us and we are so busy that we miss it completely. Maybe God needs to send us a sign to get us to read His sign.
