All Roads Or One Road?
Many years ago, for whatever reason, someone coined the phrase "all roads lead to Chicago". Maybe he was trying to promote the windy city or maybe he actually thought that the statement was true. The reason I mention this is because the same idea has been applied to getting to Heaven. How many times have we heard the statement, "well, we're all trying to get to Heaven in our own way"? If you want to dispute the claim that all roads lead to Chicago, all you need do is open a road map. Not only will you see that there are hundreds of roads throughout the USA that do not come anywhere near Chicago, but will also see there are roads within the state, very close to Chicago, that will actually take you around the area, never to arrive. Obviously, the same thing is true with going to Heaven. If you want to dispute the claim that all ways will take you to Heaven all you need do is open the Bible and read where Jesus said "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me". John 14:6. Notice that Jesus did not say that He was "a" way, but "the" way. He is not one of many ways that will get you there if you only believe hard enough. But, instead, He proclaims that He is the only way and any other way will never get you there. No one, who truly believes in hell wants to go there. No one, who truly believes in Heaven wants to miss it. Sadly, far too many will be duped into believing a lie and try to work their way or join a cult, or rely upon their "religion", only to find out in the end, there is only one way - It is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. All roads do not lead to Chicago and all ways will not get you to Heaven.
